University of Plymouth School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences

Making a difference in the fight for the future of our planet is no easy feat. Yet this is exactly what the University of Plymouth empowers its postgraduate students to achieve. In its School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, students are campaigners, influencers, activists, and advocates for a more sustainable world. The shared values they uphold are reinforced by the knowledge and skills they learn, through the programmes they study. Plymouth’s location – with its inspiring and unspoilt natural surroundings – makes the shared mission even more pertinent and academic journeys all the more enjoyable.

Staff and students work and study in the stunning natural landscape of South West England; where National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and characterful towns and cities abound. There’s also a 650 mile-long coastline, meaning the connected community addresses global sustainability challenges both on land and at sea.
