RRB NTPC Level 6 2nd Stage CBT in May, Other Exam Dates Soon – Read Official Notification

The Railways Recruitment Board has released an official notification today at its official website rrbcdg.gov.in, stating new modifications to the computer based test, CBT-2 exam. According to the notification, the CBT-2 exam for pay level 6 will be conducted in May 2022. Also, it has been decided that the CBT-2 exams for other pay levels will be conducted with reasonable gaps, however the official dates of other exams have not been announced yet.

CBT-2 exam pattern

The CBT-2 exam will be conducted for a total of 120 questions in 1.5 hours. The questions are of the MCQ format, with each question carrying 1 mark and a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every incorrect answer marked by the candidates. The question paper covers general awareness, mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning.

There are a total of 7,124 vacancies for the pay level 6 posts. From the 1.42 lakh candidates that will be shortlisted to attempt the CBT-2 exam, the eligible candidates will be recruited based on the merit and reservation policies. Selected candidates will have to attend the document verification process prior to the recruitment. The final list of candidates who have been shortlisted for the CBT-2 pay level 6 exam will be notified by the first week of April.

The pay scale for the level 6 posts begin from Rs.35,400. The posts included in pay level 6 include Commercial Apprentice and Station Master. Candidates can refer to the RRB wise vacancies for these posts, to get a better idea of ​​where they stand.

CBT-2 exam issue

After the CBT-1 results were announced in January, many candidates had expressed their concerns about the shortlisting process. Initially, it was decided that candidates upto 10 times the vacancies will be shortlisted for stage 2, but now, it has been increased to 20. Also, the candidates who have already been shortlisted will remain qualified for the exam. The additional list of candidates will be published in April.
