NIMHANS Result 2021: The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Entrance Exam 2021 Result will be declared on nimhans.ac.in. It is declared in the form of a selection list and in PDF form for each admission session – 1 and 2. How To Check NIMHANS Result 2021?

The candidates can check the result from the official website after it releases. You can view and download the result PDF without any need of login. Follow the steps given here to check and download your merit list.

Step 1: Visit the official website of NIMHANS

Step 2: In the “Announcements” section on the home page, you will find a link to access the result. Click on that link.

Step 3: A new page will open where the candidate will find the course wise lists, click on the respective course to check the result. Candidate course will be the same which he/she have filled at the time of NIMHANS Application Form filling process.

Step 4: The result is available in PDF format which consists of the name of the qualifiers, download the result PDF and take a print out of it.

How is NIMHANS Result 2021 Marks Evaluated?

The result for NIMHANS entrance exam is announced within 4-5 days of the exam date. It is published on the examination website, mentioned on this page in the form of merit list pdfs. While preparing the merit list, candidate’s score in the entrance exam is the sole criterion. Since exam dates for ug courses and other courses are different, the institute declares the results separately for them. Candidates will not receive any intimation about the declaration of results and publication of merit lists.

While calculating the scores, the following marking scheme is followed, as per data:

No. of questions: There are total 100 questions in each course’s test.

Negative marking: 0.25 marks are deducted per wrong answer

How is merit list prepared?

The merit lists for NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2020 are prepared on the basis of candidates’ scores in the exam. Qualifying examination scores and other factors have no weightage in deciding the merit of the candidate. However, if two or more candidates score the same marks in the entrance exam, a tie breaking criteria, as specified by the institute, comes into play. The selection list is prepared course-wise and category-wise.

Cut Off Marks For NIMHANS 2021

For the phase 1, the candidates need to obtain minimum qualifying marks in order to pass the test. The candidates need to score equal to or more than the cut off percentage in order to be declared as “Qualified”. The cut off marks required to qualify the test is as follows:

NIMHANS 2021 Tie-Breaking

A tie-breaking criteria is fixed by the institute to resolve tie cases. A tie case refers to the situation wherein 2 or more candidates score the same marks in the entrance exam. Since, the selection list is prepared on the basis of candidates’ entrance exam score only, the tie breaker is applied after the merit list has been published. The candidates appearing higher in the following list are prioritized over other below him/her.

  1. Number of attempts in the qualifying exam
  2. Candidate with higher marks in the qualifying exam is given priority. For non-medical courses, consolidated marks of all the semester will be considered. But for medical courses, only final year marks are taken into consideration.
  3. If the marks are the same, then the age of the candidate is considered. Older candidate will be given preference over a younger one.
  4. If the tie case still persists, then the candidate with lesser number of negative marks in NIMHANS entrance exam 2020 is given priority.

NIMHANS 2021 Selection Criteria

The candidates will be shortlisted for admission in PG, Super-specialty, and PhD. Courses on the basis of the merit in the entrance test. The qualifiers of the entrance exam will then have to appear for Counseling (Interview in case of Ph.D. candidates).

NIMHANS 2021 Counseling

It is the final phase in the admission process for NIMHANS courses. The candidates whose names appear in the selection list have to undergo counseling. The counseling process varies as per the program opted. Candidates have to produce a different Admit Card at the time of counseling which is not the same as NIMHAS Entrance Exam Admit Card,

  • For Ph.D. course applicants: The candidates in Ph.D. programs’ selection list get invited for an interview round. After the release of NIMHANS entrance exam 2020 result, shortlisted candidates have to download admit card from the NIMHANS website. You have to carry this hall ticket along with your documents to the interview centres. You will be granted a seat in the institute based on your interview score and validity of documents. If documents are found invalid or false, the admission will stand cancelled.

For other programs: The shortlisted candidates need not go through an interview round. They will be granted seats on the basis of validity of documents. Candidates need to carry their original documents to the centers for verification.

The candidates selected to join any course at NIMHANS should submit all the documents/certificates at the time of admission along with five set of photocopies of the same.
