How to Check NEET 2021 Result?
To check NEET 2021 result online, candidates may follow the steps as given below.
1st Step: Click on the direct link above. A new portal as shown below will open:
2nd Step: Next, the candidates need to enter the following login credentials.
- Application number
- Date of Birth
3rd Step: After this, click on the ‘submit’ button.
4th Step: Once you will submit the login details, your result is then displayed on the screen.
5th Step: Finally, candidates can check their marks in the entrance test. Download and take a print out of the scorecard for future use.
Important Point:- Students must note that the NEET 2021 result is valid for a period of 1 year only, i.e for the current academic session. Furthermore, the scorecard for NEET will be required by the candidates during MBBS BDS NEET admission 2021.
NEET 2021 Cut Off Scores
In order to qualify for NEET, a candidate need to obtain a pass percentile and the minimum cut-off marks as suggested by NTA. The cut-off score for NEET 2021 will be announced along with the result. Candidates can check the cut-off score and marks for previous years from the table below.

How is NEET UG 2021 Result Prepared?
NTA prepares the result for NEET based on the final answer key. The raw score for the entrance exam is calculated as per the marking scheme given below.
- Adds 4 marks for each correct answer.
- Deduct 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
NEET 2021 raw score = 4 x (total correct answers) – 1 x (total incorrect answers)
Besides the raw score, NTA also prepares the percentile score for the candidates as well. A percentile refers to the limit which indicated the performance of a candidate with respect to the number of candidates who appeared for the exam. For example, if in a test, a total of 32 candidates appeared Out of these, there are 9 people who scored less than you and 22 people who score more than you. Then, in such a case, your percentile score will be 10.
NEET 2021 percentile score is calculated as per the formula below:

NEET 2021 Tie Breaker Criteria
In case of two or more candidates obtaining the same score, their tie is resolved by applying the following rules –
- Firstly, the marks as obtaiked by the canddiate in Biology is considered. Thus, candidates with higher marks in Biilogy are placed above the other candidates.
- If the tie is still not resolved, then the marks obtained in Chemistry is considered.
- If there is still a tie, then the aspirants with less number of incorrect answers in all subjects will get higher rank.
- Lastly, if none of the above rule resolves the tie, then the age of the candidates is considered. Older canddiates will get preference over younger candidates.
NEET 2021 Counselling Process for MBBS/BDS Admissions
After the NEET 2021 result is announced, comes the most challenging part which is the counseling process. The admission procedure will start immediately for the qualified candidates. NTA’s role is limited to conduct and prepare the result for the entrance exam. Various different authorities come into the picture for NEET 2021 counseling process. Given below is a quick rundown of the NEET counseling procedure for MBBS/BDS admissions.
All India Quota (AIQ) counseling – Directorate General Of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct counseling for 15% AIQ MBBS/BDS seats. In addition to the AIQ seats, DGHS will conduct two rounds of counseling. Once, round 2 of counseling is over, the remaining seats are then returned to the states. It is to be noted that AIQ counseling is not applicable for Jamm& Kashmir. Students from this state need to apply for admission through their state quota only.
Deemed and Central Universities – In this, DGHS will conduct two rounds of counseling followed by a mop-up round.
Counseling for AFMC and IP Wards for ESIC – DGHS is responsible for AFMC and IP wards of ESIC counseling. It is conducted for MBBS/BDS admission at AFMC Pune and ESIC. Candidates who are eligible and interested in this position can register online via the DGHS portal.
State quota counseling – Each state has its own counseling authority that administers admission to 85% state quota seats. There are two to three rounds, then a Mop-up round is held. For these seats, only state domiciled candidates are eligible to apply.
Private Colleges Counselling – Likewise to state quota seats, a similar counseling authority will conduct the counseling for MBBS/BDS admissions at state private colleges. The rounds of counseling may vary from three to four depending on the number of vacancies.
Documents Required for NEET 2021 Counselling
At the time of NEET counseling, candidates are required to submit the following documents. You are required to carry both original and photocopies of the below listed documents.
- NEET admit card 2021
- NEET result 2021 or rank letter
- Class 10 mark sheet and certificate
- Class 12 mark sheet and certificate
- A photo ID that is valid, not expired, and government-issued
- 6-8 passport-sized photographs
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)

AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, AFMS, etc Counselling on the Basis of NEET 2021 Result
This year onwards, AIIMS and JIPMER entrance exam has been scrapped. The admission shall now be held on the basis of NEET 2021 result. Other than this, Delhi University (DU), BHU, and AMU are also going to fill seats via NEET. The counselling for all the colleges will be held by MCC. The counselling for AIIMS and other colleges will be held by MCC. The details shall be available soon at mcc.nic.in.
Admission in AFMC Pune is granted on the basis of NEET. It is done on the basis of norm prescribed by Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence. The candidates need to apply for AFMC, at afmc.nic.in or afmcdg1d.gov.in. The college send call letter to the shortlisted candidates, who then need to appear for screening test.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an all India level UG medical entrance exam. It is the only entrance exam for admission of eligible 10+2 students in MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. The exam is held in the 1st Sunday of May, every year.
