JKPSC KAS 2022: 220 Posts Referred, Notification Soon


The General Administration Department of Kashmir has referred a total of 220 vacancies in the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC). As such, the official notification is expected to be released soon on the JKPSC website – jkpsc.nic.in. It is being reported that the preliminary examination of the recruitment is going to be conducted in June 2022.

These vacancies have been referred for three posts altogether, namely Junior Scale of JKAS, J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service, and J&K Police (Gazetted) Police. Candidates will be shortlisted for recruitment via a Combined Competitive Examination. To know the category and post-wise vacancy details, go through the table given below.

Vacancy Details

It must be noted that 04 vacancies in the Junior Scale of JKAS and 03 in J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service have been reserved for selection in the of candidates belonging to the Physically Handicapped and Disabled Persons category. This will be done in accordance with the J&K Persons with Disabilities Act, 1998 and government orders. The band pay of these services is Rs 9300 to Rs 34800 along with grade pay of Rs 4800 that has been revised to Level 8.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for appearing in the JKPSC KAS 2022 exam, the candidate must be a permanent resident of the state. The minimum age limit is 21 years while the maximum is 32 years as of January 01, 2022. Relaxation in upper age limit will be given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, RBA, Social Castes and ALC categories along with the ones who hold a civil post in the state in a substantive capacity.

Selection Procedure

There will be two stages in the Combined Competitive Examination of JKPSC KAS 2022. The first stage is the preliminary exam and the shortlisted candidates have to appear for the main exam which comprises a written exam and interview. In the preliminary exam, the candidate has to answer MCQs for two papers comprising 400 marks. There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every incorrect answer. The final order of merit will be determined by the performance in the main exam.
