JKCET 2022 Counseling- The Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) 2022 counseling schedule is going to release soon after the answer key and result. Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) conducts the JKCET annually and allots seats in its member institutes. The Board will announce the mode of JKCET 2022 counseling later. During the counselling, the qualified candidates can fill the preference form with their preferred institute and course. The admission will be given to the candidates according to their preferences, eligibility and JKCET 2022 result after paying the counseling fee. JKCET 2022 Counseling

Through JKCET 2022 counseling, the candidates are allotted seats for UG engineering disciplines. Those who qualified the JKCET 2022 exam cut-off and fulfill the eligibility can get admission to BE/B.Tech courses in colleges in J&K under BOPEE. The counseling is usually done in 3 rounds based on the candidate preferences, seats available, JKCET result and eligibility. The dates regarding the JKCET 2022 counseling process are given below:

JKCET 2022 Counseling Process

During JKCET 2022 counselling, the qualified candidates are allotted seats on the basis of the merit list and cut-off prepared using JKCET 2022 result. The seats will be allotted as per the merit, preferences and reservation rules. The qualified candidates will have to fill a preference form to submit their choice of institutions and courses. This preference form will play an important role in the seat allotment process. The candidates must bring all the relevant documents during the counseling process.

  • Mode of Counselling: Offline (Physical)/Online (to be notified later).
  • Counseling Fee: Candidates have to fill counseling form with their institute and discipline preferences and pay Rs.1500/- (based on previous year details).
  • Mode of Counseling Fee Payment: Based on the mode of counseling- online or at POS machine at BOPEE office.

Note: The candidate must be physically present during the counseling if JKCET 2022 counseling is held in offline physical mode.

The following steps describe the JKCET 2022 counseling process:

  • Step 1: Visit jkbopee.gov.in and check the JKCET 2022 result and counseling process information.
  • Step 2: If counseling is online, fill the online preference form in the order of preference of institute and course discipline.(A mock exercise to fill preferences was also conducted last year before the preference form filling)
  • Step 3: If the counseling is offline, report to the BOPEE office according to the schedule. Bring all the original required documents and get them verified. Fill the preference form.
  • Step 4: Get admission in the institute and course where the seat is allotted during the 1st round of counseling.
  • Step 5: If seat is not allotted or the candidate wants to change/upgrade the seat allotted during the 1st round, the candidates have to attend the 2nd round of counseling. The candidates have to fill new preferences for the 2nd round according to the seats available.

Note: Only the candidates who have joined the college in which they were allotted a seat can attend the 2nd round for upgradation if they want. Such candidates will not be allowed in the second round if they do not join the college seat allotted to them previously.

  • Step 6: All further counseling rounds will be held in a similar manner to fill up the seats. However, candidates will not be eligible to attend any other counseling round after upgrading the allotted seat once.

Documents Required for JKCET 2022 Counseling

The candidates need the original copy of the documents given below for JKCET 2022 counseling process. The documents must be valid on the date of counseling and until the admission process is complete.

  1. Resident proof of domicile of J&K or Ladakh.
  2. Board issued marks certificate of the qualifying exam (class 12th)
  3. Class 10th (matriculation)/equivalent certificate for proof of date of birth.
  4. Category certificate, if applicable (It should be valid on the date of counseling,
  5. Recent passport size photographs.

JKCET 2022 Seat Reservation Policy

According to the previous year reservation policy, the open merit category holds 50% of the total seats while the other 50% is for the reserved category candidates. The seats reserved for TFW, CDP (3%), children of Para-military and UT police personnel (1%), and sports quota (2%) will fall under open merit category.
