Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be closing the online application process for the B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) course today, ie April 17, 2022, The minimum duration of the course is three years. It must be noted that the entrance examination is going to be conducted on May 08, for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes,
Interested candidates who meet the required eligibility criteria must submit the online application form at the earliest by today via the official website – ignou.ac.in, The online application fee is Rs 1000 and has to be paid through the payment gateway. They can also choose their exam city while filling out the form.
Candidates who are in-service nurses (RNRM) with having 10+2 degree and a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with two years of work experience can apply for the course. Similarly, the in-service nurses who have class 10 (matriculation) or its equivalent with three years, a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) along with five years of experience in the profession can also apply. However, it must be noted that there is no age limit for admission.
Admission for the course is carried out on the basis of merit decided by the entrance test and tie break. Hence, while filling out the online application form, it is mandatory to provide an email ID and mobile number. The entrance test is going to be conducted on May 08, 2022, in the centers identified all across the country.
The test comprises 120 multiple choice questions and 01 mark is allotted to each question. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. These questions are drawn from various subjects that are included in GNM. Candidates have to mark their responses on the OMR sheet. The use of mobile phones or any other electronic device is strictly prohibited in the examination centre.
Results of the entrance examination will be uploaded on the official website – ignou.ac.in, All information regarding the next step of admission will be communicated via the same website.
IGNOU follows a credit system for its degree programs. A student will need to earn 108 credits over a period of 3 to 5 years depending on their convenience. The Post Basic B.Sc Nursing course has two components: Theory and Practical. Out of the 22 courses, 11 constitute theory and 11 constitute practical. The medium of instruction is English.
