HPU Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should check the eligibility from the below-mentioned points before applying for any of the course.
- Eligibility for LLM: Admission will be open to the Law graduates of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla who have obtained LL.B./ BA.LL.B (Professional) Degree as well as Law graduates of other Universities in India whose Law Degree is recognized as equivalent to the LL.B/BA.LL.B.
- Candidatess should have good academic record with first or high second class in LL.B. (Professional) Degree with at least 55% Marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates) or B Plus in the grade system marks or an equivalent degree of a foreign University.
Eligibility for BBA/B.Com: Candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized university with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates).
Eligibility for BCA: Candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized university with at least 40% marks in aggregate (35% marks for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates).
Eligibility for B.Ed: Candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates).
Eligibility for BHM: Candidates must have 10+2 in any stream from any recognized Institution/Board with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST) will be eligible for admission to this course
Eligibility for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: Only Female candidate is eligible. Candidate must have qualified 10+2 or any equivalent examination from the recognized board with at least 45% aggregate marks and 35% is the minimum for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Eligibility for MBBS/BDS: Candidate must have qualified NEET UG to be eligibile for admission in MBBS/BDS corse.
Eligibility for M.Sc Nursing
- Candidates should be B.Sc. Nursing /Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing /B. Sc Hons. Nursing trained from the recognized Institutions with at least 55% aggregate marks.
- Candidates should be registered as registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) B.Sc/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with H.P State Nurses registration council Shimla/ any State Nursing Registration council at the time of counselling.
- Candidates should have one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and after B.Sc. Nursing.
Eligibility for MD/MS
- Candidate should have BAMS or any equivalent Degree (including one year rotatory internship) of five and half years duration.
- Candidates should be registered with Ayurvedic & Unani Medical Board, H.P. Shimla.
Eligibility for MBA
- Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (with 45% marks in the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates)
- Maximum age limit is 26 years for boys and 28 years for girls (29 years in case of SC/ST candidates both for st boys and girls) as on 1 of July of the year concerned.
Eligibility for MCA/MTTM: Candidate should have bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST).
Eligibility for M.Tech: Candidate should have a 4-years bachelor’s degree in Engineering /Technology or a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST category).
Eligibility for M.Sc Biotechnology and Microbiology:
M.Sc. Biotechnology –
- Candidate should have Bachelor Degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Science in. Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Botany or Zoology or M.B.B.S./B.V.Sc from any Institute/ University recognized by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla/ UGC
- And with at least 50% marks for general and other category and 45% for SC/ ST category candidates.
M.Sc. Microbiology –
- Candidate should have Bachelor Degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Science streams such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Botany or Zoology or M.B.B.S./B.V.Sc from any Institute/ University recognized by the Himachal Pradesh University/ UGC
- And with at least 50% marks for general and other category and 45% for SC/ ST category candidates.
Eligibility for Diploma Programmes: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree to be eligible for diploma courses.
Eligibility for PG Diploma in Adult Education: Master’s degree in any subject from a recognised University or equivalent with atleast 40% aggregate marks is required.
Eligibility for PG Diploma in Guidance and Counselling: Candidate must have M.A. (Education) or M.Ed. or M.A.(Psychology) with at least 40% marks in the aggregate.
Diploma in Yoga Studies: A Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a University in India with a minimum of 48 credits in Major subject, 48 credits in two minor subjects, 9 credits in compulsory, 1 credit in GI & hobby with aggregate of 106 credits for the award of pass degree.

A Bachelor’s degree in any faculty of a University in India
OR
Certificate in Yoga or Physical Education from a University/Board in India.
Diploma in Bhoti: 1-year Certificate Course in Bhoti is needed.

Intermediate Examination of a recognised Board/University with that language as compulsory subject in which admission is being sought.
Certificate Course in Bhoti: Candidate must have passed 12th class or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Advance Diploma in Bhoti Language: 1-year diploma in Bhoti language is required to be eligible.
Diploma Course in Modern Foreign Language: To be eligible, a Certificate in the Modern Foreign Language concerned is required.

HPU Admission 2022 Application Form
To apply in any of the course, candidates have to fill the application form through the official website, hpuniv.ac.in. In HPU application form, candidates have to fill the personal details, academic qualification, affix photo and signature and make the payment of the application fee. Email id and valid number must be there with the candidate before applying for the course as these are the important fields in the form and HPU communicates via mail or SMS once the application form is filled.
Application Fee: The cost of application form fee differs from course to course. It is mandatory to submit the HPU admission 2022 application form along with the payment of the application fee. Candidates can check the amount of fee is based last year record for reference purpose only from below.

HPU Admission 2022 Selection Process
Candidates can check the selection criteria from below.
Basis of Admission in LLM: Candidates selection is based on Entrance exam and Personal Interview
Basis of Admission in BHM for Subsidized Seats: Candidate’s selection is based on the the percentage of marks in 10+2 followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Basis of Admission in BBA for Subsidized Seats: Candidate’s selection is based on the application ratings, written test, group discussion and personal interview.
Basis of Admission in BBA for Non-Subsidized Seats: Candidate’s selection is based on the percentage of marks in 10+2.
Basis of Admission in BCA for Susidized Seats: Candidate’s selection is based on the competitive examination.
Basis of Admission in BCA for Non-Subsidized Seats: Candidate’s selection is based on the percentage of marks in 10+2.
Basis of Admission in B.Ed/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: The selection is based on the entrance test merit.
Basis of Admission in B.A.L.L.B: Candidate’s selection is based on his/her academic merit i.e based on the marks obtained in class 12 exam or any equivalent examination.
Basis of Admission in MBBA/BDS: Candidate’s selection is based on the merit in the NEET UG and counselling conducted by the committee formed by the university
Basis of Admission in BAMS/BHMS
- Group-I: (85 % State Quota): For state quota seats, the candidates who have qualified the NEET-UG are eligible. For such candidates, a centralised counselling is conducted by the Director Ayurveda, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.
- Group-II: (15% Central Quota/All India Quota): Seats are open for candidates who are not bonafide/domicile of Himachal.
Basis of Admission in M.Sc Nursing: Admission in M.Sc Nursing is based on the merit in the entrance test conducted by the university.

- Candidate’s are selected based on the merit ranking of AIAPGET.
- A counselling is held for allotting seats to the candidates.

Basis of Admission in MCA/M.Tech and M.Sc: Seletion os the candidate depends on his/her merit in the entrance test conducted by the university.

HPU LLM Exam Pattern
- The Entrance Test will consist of one paper of 100 multiple choice questions. The questions will be set from the courses taught in LL.B. with emphasis on the following areas :

(iv) Constitutional Law
(v) Human Rights Law - The minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test will be 50% (45% in case of SC/ST /PwD candidates.)

The weightage assigned in computing merit in BBA is given below.
1. Application Ratings: (15 Marks each for Matric and 10+2 examination levels based on percentage scored in the examination. While computing merit a candidate having Commerce or Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level will be given additional weightage of 10% of the percentage of aggregate marks obtained by him/her in 10+2
examination).

HPU Admission 2022 Admit Card
Himachal Pradesh University releases the admit card for the students who have applied in a course in which an entrance exam is conducted. Candidates can download the admit card online through the official website. To download the admit card, candidates have to login using their registration number (user ID) and password (date of birth). The admit card works as a unique identification for each candidate. It has to be carried in the hardcopy format on the day of examination. The admit card mention details of the candidate, exam centre, date and time of exam and so on.
HPU Admission 2022 Result
HPU releases the result in online mode. It is released in the form of a scorecard. There is no provision of re-checking and re-evaluating the result. Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and given admission in the colleges based on their fulfilment of the eligibility criteria and availability of seats. The result is not sent via post to the candidate’s address. In order to be updated, candidate shall keep checking the website of Himachal Pradesh University.

HPU Admission 2022 Counselling
After the Result has been declared counselling/interview is conducted for various programmes. Once the counselling process is conducted, candidates will be allotted seats to different colleges as per the rank they scored in the entrance test. The Himachal Pradesh University was established on July 22, 1970. The University is located at Summer Hill, a suburb at the western end of Shimla at a distance of 5 Kms from the town, 5 minutes walk from the Summer Hill Railway Station, and about 15 (Fifteen) Kms from Jubber Hatti AirPort. The university is recognized by UGC for Excellence in Himalayan Studies. It is the first university in India to start distance education in India.
