Admission into these courses is strictly made on the basis of the performance in GU-ART 2022. Goa University offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate courses. Goa University conducts the GU-ART for admission in various PG courses and B.Ed course. The GU Art shall be conducted in offline mode only. Following is the schedule related to GU-ART 2022 entrance examination.

GU-ART Admit Card 2022
The GU-ART 2021 Admit Card is going to be available on the official website, as per the schedule. A student must take a print-out of the Admit Card as it must be shown during the day of the exam. A candidate is not be allowed to take the exam without the Admit Card so the candidates must download their admit card. The direct link to download the admit card is provided below.
GU-ART 2022 Application Form
The last date to apply for post-graduate courses at Goa University is 31st March 2022.
- The candidates need to visit the portal .
- A list of courses would pop up.
- Read the instructions carefully.
- Click on the ‘Apply For Admission Registration’ button that appears at the bottom of the screen.
- Fill in details like the date of birth, mobile number, e-mail id, etc. And then choose the ‘Register’ option.
Application Fees (To be paid online through GUMS portal only):
– INR 600 per subject/specialization.
– INR 300 in case of SC/ST of Goa.
Note:- Persons belonging to the PwD category are exempt from the application fees. They just need to submit a certificate to that effect, which has been issued by an Officer in the rank of the Deputy Collector, or some other authorized officer, as required by the Government of Goa.

GU-ART 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for undergraduate courses have to contact the university they are interested in. For PG course candidates have to clear GU-ART except for MBA executive. For that, they have to appear for a group discussion/personal interview.
Faculty of Languages & Literature:
Master of Arts English, French, Hindi, Konkani, Marathi and Portuguese:-
The candidate must have passed the exam of the Degree of Bachelor of Arts General/ Honors of the University in the particular
subject, or any equivalent.
Faculty of Social Sciences:
i) Master of Arts in History, Political Science, Sociology, Geography and Psychology:
– The candidate must have passed the examination of Degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) General/ Honors in that particular subject or any equivalent.
ii) Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.L.I.Sc):
Graduates in any discipline of the University or any other recognised university, or an equivalent, are eligible.
iii) Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.Sc):
Graduates in Library and Information Science with a minimum of 40% in aggregate marks from any
recognized university in India or abroad.
C] Goa of Business School:
i) Master of Arts in Economics :
For a Degree of Master of Arts in Economics, the candidate must have passed the exam of Degree of Bachelor of Arts General/ Honors of the
University in that particular subject, or any other equivalent examination from any other University
ii) Masters of Commerce (M.Com):
For a Degree of Master of Commerce
(M.Com.), the candidate should have passed the exam for the Degree of B.Com/BBA/BBA(FS), of
this University or another equivalent examination of any other recognised university.
iii) Master of Travel and Tourism Management:
The candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from this University or
any other recognised university.
School of Physical and Applied Sciences:
i) Master of Science in Mathematics and Physics:
The candidate must have passed the examination of the Degree of Bachelor of
Science General/ Honors in the subject for which admission is sought of the University or any other recognised
university as an equivalent.
ii) Master of Science in Electronics:
The candidate must have passed the exam of the Degree of Bachelor of Science with
Physics/ Computer Science/ Electronics of the university or from some other recognised university.
Faculty of Life Sciences & Environment:
i) Master of Science in Microbiology, Botany and Zoology:
The candidate must have completed the Degree of
Bachelor of Science General/ Honors in that particular subject or from
any other equivalent from a recognised university.
ii) Master of Science in Biotechnology & Marine Biotechnology:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural / Biological & Clinical Sciences, Agricultural /
Veterinary / Fishery Sciences / Pharmacy / Engineering / Technology or 4-years B.Sc. (Physician
Assistant) or Medicine (MBBS) or B.D.S., with a minimum of 55% marks. Admissions to Marine Biotechnology Admissions are granted based on the
National Combined Entrance Examination in Biotechnology conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University
(New Delhi) at various centres.
iii) Master of Science in Food Technology:
Should have passed the exam of the Degree of Bachelor of Science General/ Honors
in Food Science /Food Technology/Microbiology /Biotechnology /Biochemistry/Life Sciences/
Biological Sciences / Home Science / Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and Allied Sciences OR four years
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Veterinary/ Forestry/ Pharmacy/ Fishery Sciences / B.E.
(Biochemical / Biotechnology)/ B.Tech (Biochemical / Biotechnology/ Food Science / Food
School of Chemical Sciences:
i) Master of Science in Chemistry:
– Must have completed the Degree of Bachelor of Science of
the University General/ Honors or from any other recognized University, in that particular subject.
b) For the M.Sc. Programme in Chemistry, the candidates would be eligible for admission to
only one of the various specialisations at M. Sc., Part II, as mentioned in the University Prospectus.
c) The allotment of seats under various specializations of the Master’s Programme in Chemistry, are to be specified
in the University Prospectus.
ii) Master of Science in Biochemistry:
Must have passed the exam for the Degree of Bachelor of Science
General/ Honors of this University or from any other recognized University. in Chemistry / Biological
Sciences (Botany, Zoology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology and allied subjects.
School of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences:
(i) Master of Science in Applied Geology:
The candidate must have passed the examination for the Degree of Bachelor of Science
General/ Honors of the University or from any other recognized University, in that particular subject.
(ii) Master of Science in Marine Science:
The candidate must have finished the Degree of
Bachelor of Science of the University or from any other recognized University, in
Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Hydrochemistry/ Environmental Science/
Environmental Chemistry/ Marine Science/Ocean Science/Biotechnology. Moreover, a candidate with BSc
Geography /B.C.A with mathematics at the HSSC level is also eligible.
(iii) Master of Science in Marine Microbiology:
The candidate must have passed the examination of the Degree of Bachelor
of Science General/ Honors in Microbiology/ Biotechnology of the University or from any other
(iv) Master of Science in Environmental Science/ Master of Arts in Environmental Studies:
The candidate must have passed the exam for the Degree of
Bachelor of Science General/ Honors of the University or from any other recognised university as an equivalent.
For Master of Arts in
Environmental Science, the candidate must have passed the exam for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts
General/ Honors of the University or an examination from any other recognised University.
School of International and Area Studies:
(i) MA International Studies:
To be eligible for admission to the Programmes leading to the Degree of Master of Arts in
International Studies, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from this
University or an equivalent from another recognised university.
Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance & Public Policy:
(i) Master of Social Work:
For the Degree of Master of Social
Studies, a candidate must have finished graduation in any discipline, either from this university or
any other recognised university.
(ii) Master of Arts in Women’s Studies:
The candidate must have finished graduation in any discipline, either from this university, or any other university which would be recognised as an equivalent.
School of Sanskrit, Philosophy and Indic Studies:
(i) Master of Arts in Philosophy:
The candidate must have successfully completed the Degree of Bachelor of Arts
General/ Honors in the subject of Philosophy from this University or any other University
recognised as an equivalent.
The admissions to the post-graduate courses would be completely based on the performance of the candidates in the Goa University –
Admissions Ranking Test (GU-ART). The marks or percentage obtained by the candidate in
graduating would only be considered to determine the eligibility of candidates for the respective programme.
Note:- Candidates who are in their Final Year of Graduation are also eligible to apply.
For B.Ed Program
GU-Art 2021 will also have a B.Ed program under its scheme. However, only the candidates of Goan domicile can apply for this course. Also, only Post Graduates are eligible to apply for the higher secondary school subjects/subject pedagogic of Commerce/Political Science/Economics Sociology/Psychology.
GU-ART 2022 Examination Pattern
GU-ART will have objective type of questionnaire which will contain 100 marks. Following are the details
- Total questions – There will be 50 questions in the exams, of 2 marks each
- Negative Marking – For each wrong answer, ½ of a mark will be deducted and No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
- Duration – The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes
- Sections – The examination will be divided into three sections-

GU-ART 2022 Admission Procedure
The GU-ART 2021 Admissions will be conducted for the eligible candidates on the basis of their performance in the GU-ART 2021 Entrance examination. Following is the complete Admission procedure-
- After the Round I results, there will be an allotment of the as per the GU-ART 2021 performances.
- Afterwards, there shall be a Counselling session to confirm the candidate’s choice in terms of the course
- If the seats are still empty after the first round, subsequent rounds will be held to fill those seats, if the seats of the reserved category remain empty after the first round, they will be shifted to the General Category.

GU-ART 2022 Result
The rank list for the GU-ART 2022 is going to be released on the official website of Goa University as per schedule. There is a ranking system in the declared result based upon the MCQ exam.
If two students receive the same amount of marks then first, Section III marks are taken into the account for the tie-breaker, if the tie still exists, then the Section-II marks are taken into account, if even this perimeter doesn’t break the tie then the University shall decide on its own accordingly.
