How FDST 2021 Result is Calculated?

The FDST result is calculated according to the marking scheme specified in the brochure and the marks obtained by the candidates in the Foreign Dental Screening Test. Refer the marking scheme as given below to calculate the raw scores.

  • 01 Marks are awarded in case of correct response.
  • No marks will be deducted on wrong answers in other words there is no negative marking.
  • Also, there will be no grace marking.

Result Status: The candidates who secure the minimum marks in both the papers will have result status as ‘Qualified’ whereas, the candidates who fail to obtain 50% marks individually in each paper will have status as ‘Not Qualified’.

Similarly in Viva Voce, candidates who obtain the minimum marks will have status as ‘Pass’ and ‘Fail’ will be displayed for those candidates who did not secure the qualifying marks.

How to Check FDST 2021 Result?

FDST 2021 Qualifying Marks

Candidates have to obtain the following marks, to be declared as qualified. Check the qualifying marks for FDST 2021.

Computer Based Test: There are total 2 papers in FDST exam. So, in order to qualify the exam, candidates have to secure minimum 50% marks in each paper of FDST. It is compulsory to clear both papers with 50% marks in each to qualify for viva voce.

Viva Voce examination: Once the candidate clears both the papers and secures the minimum marks, he/she will be eligible for the Viva-voce examination. In the viva voce exam, candidates have to secure a minimum of 50% out of the total marks to be considered qualified. Since the viva voce is out of 50 marks, candidates have to at least get 25 marks out of 50.

For the viva voce, there will be two examiners, one examiner will be internal from the examining university and the other will be an external examiner from any other university.

About FDST 2021

Foreign Dental Screening Test (FDST) is conducted by NBEMS for Indian citizens or persons of Indian origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) who have primary dental qualifications/PG Diploma/ Post Graduate Dental qualification from any dental Institute outside India and now wish to get register with any state dental council of India or for any other reason as specified by the Dental Council of India.

FDST is a computer-based exam. In total, there are 2 question papers for the FDST exam. The paper I contains 100 MCQs and paper II contains 150 MCQs. It is compulsory for the candidates to appear for both papers. Once, the candidate secure the minimum qualifying marks in both the papers, they become eligible to appear for viva voce and in order to qualify the viva, candidates have to secure a minimum of 50% marks.
