CHSE Exam Date 2022 Out, 80% Weightage to Annual Exams, 20% to Quarter

The Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has released the Plus 2 Examination 2022 Date Sheet. The exam is scheduled to commence on April 28 and end on May 28, 2022, As per the official release by the CHSE, the exam will be conducted in a single shift from 9 am. Nearly 3.2 lakh students will be appearing for the Plus 2 examination this year from Arts, Science, Commerce and vocational streams. The exam will be conducted in offline, pen-and-paper mode.

CHSE 2022 Time Table

While the CHSE 2022 exam commences on April 28the science stream exams begin on May 9with arts and commerce stream exams beginning on April 28, The theory exams will be of a duration of 3 hours, the answer sheets and question paper will be distributed 10 minutes and 5 minutes, respectively before the commencement of the exam.

As per the official notification, an important note for the Biology paper has been provided. It states that both sections of the Biology paper, ie, Section A: Botany and Section B: Zoology will be conducted in one sitting with a gap of 20 minutes. The release also stated that the papers will be held as per the given dates even if any date is declared as a holiday.

Weightage and Evaluation Criteria

This year the students appearing for the examination will be assessed in two schemes in the paper:

– Performance of the candidates based on his/her performance only in the Annual HS Examination.
– 80% weightage will be on the basis of the student’s performance in the Annual HS Examination, while 20% weightage will be on the basis of performance in the Quarter-End Examination, every relevant fraction in the calculation will be rounded off to the next whole number.

The practical exams will be held internally by the respective Higher Secondary School teachers. The 20% weightage from the quarter-end examination will consist of both performances in theory and practical exams conducted internally. It was also stated that the scores of the best two internal tests will be considered out of three. As for the minimum qualifying criteria, A candidate obtaining a minimum of 30% in each subject and 33% in aggregate will be declared as passed in the Plus 2 exam 2022.
