JKCET 2022- Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) conducts the state-level JKCET every year. The notification and application form for JKCET 2022 is going to be released soon on the official website jkbopee.gov.in. JKCET 2022 is the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test conducted for the admissions into B.E. and B.Tech courses in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. The candidates with J&K domicile who have qualified/are appearing for 10+2/ equivalent exam can take JKCET 2022. JKCET 2022 will be held in offline mode at the assigned exam centres. JKCET 2022

Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) 2022 is an entrance test held for admissions into UG engineering courses (B.E./B.Tech) by JKBOPEE. Through this exam, all the candidates with the domicile of J&K can get admissions into various govt. and private colleges of J&K. Note: JKCET examination will only be conducted if the no. of admission applications will be more than the no. of available admission seats. Otherwise, admission to J&K B.E./B.Tech. courses will be based on the merit list prepared as per the qualifying exam (class 10+2) score of the candidates.

JKCET 2022 Exam Pattern

JKCET 2022 exam pattern is described in the points below-

  • Mode of Examination: Offline*
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours
  • Types of Questions: Objective type (MCQs)
  • Total no. of questions: 180 questions (60 questions from each section)
  • No. of Sections in Exam: 3 sections, namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Total Marks: 180 marks
  • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for every correct answer; subtract 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

*Note: The mode of examination can be online too if the logistics requirement is met by the BOPEE.

JKCET 2022 Preparation Tips

To secure higher marks and to prepare well in time, the following tips can be kept in mind while preparing for JKCET 2022:

  • Get to know the exam pattern and syllabus of JKCET 2022.
  • Refer to previous year question papers of JKCET to practice and to know the type of questions that are asked in the exam.
  • Solve mock tests and work on time management while practising.
  • Refer to NCERT Textbooks of classes 11th and 12th of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to know the topics and revise regularly.
  • Apart from NCERT books, candidates can refer to reference books like ABC’s of Physics by Satish K. Gupta and Concept of Physics by H. C. Verma, Pradeep’s objective chemistry, Numerical problems in chemistry by R. N. Sarin, and Class XII Maths by R. D. Sharma.

JKCET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Based on the criteria set by JKBOPEE for the previous year examination, the following is the expected JKCET 2022 eligibility criteria:

The candidates must-

  • have domicile certificate of Jammu and Kashmir (or ST certificate of Ladakh union territory to prove domicile of Ladakh).
  • have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. class 12th/10+2/equivalent from a recognised board by the time of UG admission.
  • have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their subjects in class 10+2.
  • have scored at least 50% for open merit categories and 40% for reserved categories in Class 10+2.
  • be at least 17 years old. There is no upper age limit. (The candidates had to be at least 17 years old by 31 December 2021 for the previous year exam. Any such specification will be added later once the JKCET 2022 brochure is released.)

JKCET 2022 Application Form

The candidates are required to first visit the BOPEE website jkbopee.gov.in and create an online registration profile to generate their application no. and password. Using these, they can then log in and fill the JKCET 2022 online application and pay the fee. If the login password or application no. is lost, it can be retrieved by clicking on “Forgot Your Password/Application no.” under candidate login. 

The following steps need to be followed while filling the application form:

Generating Application No.

  • Visit jkbopee.gov.in
  • Scroll down the home page and select the “Click to apply” option on CET Engineering section under Online Applications.
  • Read the instructions and scroll down. Select the “click here to fill application” button.
  • Read the instructions in the pop-up window and click on “Apply”.
  • Fill in the registration details and submit. The application no. will be displayed on the screen and sent on the registered email ID.

Note: The details filled in the JKCET 2022 application form can only be changed before its final submission. No form corrections will be allowed later.

Filling Application Fee and Uploading Documents

  • After saving your application no. for future reference, select the “click here to make payment” option. OR Login again using application no. and password to pay the fee later.
  • Enter the details and click on Pay button.
  • Read the instructions and proceed to pay the fee by selecting a payment mode.
  • Download or print the fee transaction details page and click on Upload Documents option.
  • Enter the details asked and submit. Then, click on “choose file” buttons to upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
  • Check the uploaded documents by clicking on “view” and submit.
  • Click on Print Application Form to download and print its copy for further admission process.
  • After successful submission of application form, the candidates must keep checking the “Application Status” under Log in.

Caution: The candidates must submit only 1 JKCET 2022 application form each. Multiple form submissions will lead to candidature rejection.

Image Specifications to Upload Documents

The candidates need the documents given below to fill the JKCET 2022 application form. The same documents must be produced later during the counselling and admission process.

  1. Resident proof of domicile of J&K or Ladakh
  2. Board issued marks certificate of the qualifying exam (class 12th)
  3. Matriculation/equivalent certificate with date of birth.
  4. Self-attested copy of category certificate, if applicable.
  5. Scanned copy of recent passport size photograph with light background and candidate nameplate with date of taking the picture mentioned on it. It should be without cap/goggles, although spectacles are allowed.
  6. Clear scanned copies of signature and thumb impression.

The format and size of images to be uploaded is as follows:

  • Photograph/Signature/Thumb Impression: 10-50 Kb in JPG/JPEG format.
  • J&K/Ladakh Domicile, Class 12th Mark Sheet, Date of Birth certificate, Category certificate: 100-200 Kb in PDF format.

Note: The candidates can apply for only one reserved category which cannot be changed later.

Application Fee

Based on the previous year examination, the JKCET 2022 application fee is expected to be as follows-

  • Fee to be paid: Rs.1200 (non-refundable)
  • Mode of Payment: Online (credit/debit card or net banking)

JKCET 2022 Admit Card

Candidates have to print and preserve their coloured JKCET 2022 admit cards until the admission process is complete.

  • Released Where and When: The JKCET 2022 admit cards will be released on the official website jkbopee.gov.in. They are expected to release around 10 days before the exam date. The candidates who can’t download their admit card can visit the I.T. Section help desk at BOPEE office at Srinagar/Jammu and pay Rs.100/-to get their admit cards, by taking a telephonic appointment.
  • Information on Admit Card: The admit card will have candidate’s information like name, application no., exam roll no., exam centre and exam timings.
  • How to get Admit Card: JKCET 2022 admit cards can be downloaded by logging in using their application no. and password at BOPEE site. The candidates need to print coloured admit cards on photo paper.

Exam Day Instructions

  • The candidates will not be allowed to take JKCET 2022 exam without a printed copy of their admit cards.
  • The issuance of admit card does not ensure candidate’s eligibility.
  • The candidates will be allowed to enter the exam centre 35 minutes before the exam reporting time.
  • No textual materials, calculators, eatables, drinks, or electronics will be allowed inside the exam centre.
  • No late entry after the reporting time will be allowed at the exam centre.

JKCET 2022 Exam Centres

The exam centres given by BOPEE will be mentioned on JKCET 2022 admit cards. The assigned exam centres cannot be changed and any retest request will not be entertained. The expected JKCET 2022 exam centres based on the previous year guidelines will be in 2 cities only, namely-

JKCET 2022 Answer Key

BOPEE releases the provisional JKCET answer key using which the candidates can check and calculate their JKCET 2022 scores. If any valid objections are raised against the provisional key, a revised final answer key is also released later.

  • Released Where and When: The JKCET answer key is generally released within a day after the exam date on the official site- jkbopee.gov.in.
  • Availability Duration: The JKCET 2022 answer key will remain available on the website for 3 days only.
  • Key Objections/Corrections: If any candidate wants to raise any objection to the answer key, then the complaint needs to be submitted within 3 working days after the key is first uploaded on the site. The written complaint with valid proof must be submitted after paying Rs.1000/- fee at POS machine in the BOPEE office at Srinagar/Jammu.
  • Key Revision: Any objections submitted against the uploaded answer key will be examined by BOPEE and a final revised key will be updated accordingly.

JKCET 2022 Result

The JKCET 2022 result will be released on the official BOPEE website- jkbopee.gov.in sometime after the release of final answer key. The result will also be available at the BOPEE offices in Srinagar and Jammu. The result will be prepared in the form of a merit list based on the eligibility and JKCET score. In case JKCET is not conducted, the result is prepared on the basis of candidates’ marks in the qualifying exam (class 12th).

Merit Lists: Separate merit lists are also prepared for open merit and reserved categories. If the no. of reserved category candidates is less than the reserved seats, the remaining seats will be filled with the shortlisted candidates from open merit list.

Re-totalling of Marks: The candidates can send a request for re-totalling of their marks based on the final answer key. The written request with a fee of Rs.1000/- paid at the POS terminal at BOPEE office of Srinagar/Jammu must reach the office within 3 days after the result declaration.

JKCET 2022 Category Reservation Policy

According to the previous year’s reservation policy, the open merit category holds 50% reservation while the other 50% of the seats is for the reserved category candidates. The seats reserved for TFW, CDP (3%), children of Para-military and UT police personnel (1%), and sports quota (2%) will fall within open merit category. JKCET 2022 Counselling

During JKCET 2022 counselling, the qualified candidates are allotted seats on the basis of the merit list prepared under JKCET 2022 result. This allotment of seats is done based on the merit cum reservation rules. The choice of institutions and courses filled by the qualified candidates under their preferences also plays an important role. The candidates must have all their relevant documents during the counselling process.

  • Mode of Counselling: Offline/Online (to be notified later).
  • Counselling Fee: Candidates have to fill counselling form with their institute and discipline preferences and pay Rs.1500/- (based on previous year details).
  • Mode of Counselling Fee Payment: Based on the mode of counselling.

JKCET 2022 Member Institutes and Seats

The JKCET 2022 result and score will be accepted in various government and private institutions of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. These scores will allow the candidates to get admission in UG engineering and technology courses in J&K. Ques1. Can candidates from all over India apply for JKCET?

Ans.1 No, JKCET can only be taken by candidates with the domicile of UT of J&K.

Ques2. Can JKCET application form be filled offline?

Ans.2 Candidates are expected to fill their JKCET application form online at jkbopee.gov.in. But in case they are unable to do so themselves, they can go to BOPEE office at Srinagar/Jammu and pay a fee of Rs.100/- to get their forms filled, as per the previous year guidelines.

Ques3. In what language will the JKCET be conducted?

Ans3. The JKCET exam will only be conducted in the English language.

Ques4. How to get JKCET admit card if internet facility is not available to download it?

Ans.4 The candidates who are unable to download their JKCET 2022 admit cards, can take a telephonic appointment at the I.T. section help desk of the BOPEE offices at Srinagar or Jammu. They can then visit the help desk and get their admit cards after paying Rs.100/-.

Ques5. Can I apply for re-checking of the OMR answer sheet after JKCET 2022 result is declared?

Ans5. No, once the result is declared, re-checking requests will not be accepted. However, candidates can apply for re-totalling of marks within 3 days after the result declaration by paying Rs.1000/-.
