AP TET 2022 To Be Held in June for 6000 Teacher Vacancies, First Time Since 2018

The Andhra Pradesh Department of School Education (DSE) will conduct the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) in June 2022 as per reports by various local dailies. The DSE has started the preparations to conduct the test in June, Even though the test is to be conducted every year, AP TET was last held in 2018. AP TET 2022 will be conducted to fill in a total of about 6000 teaching vacancies across the state. Once the department releases the official notification, aspiring candidates can apply for the AP TET 2022 exam on the official website at aptet.apcfss.in,

AP TET 2022

Minister Adimulku Suresh has announced that the total vacancies of teachers available in the state will be filled after the conduct of AP TET 2022. Since 2018, thousands of people have completed B.Ed or D.Ed in the state waiting for the notification of AP TET. The test when conducted in 2018 was conducted along with the District Selection Committee (DSC).

There is a 20% weightage of TET in the appointment of teachers in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Out of the 6000 vacant teaching posts, the majority are subject teachers. Also, the posting of 6000 additional teachers in the current educational infrastructure of AP requires the posting of some 35000-40000 school assistants. The conduct of AP TET 2022 is creating a huge job market in AP.

There are chances of Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) to be promoted as School Assistants and the rest of the vacancies will be filled by the DSC. The minister also made a remark that not a single school will be closed down due to this promotion but additional classrooms will be created and more teachers will be recruited.

AP TET Exam Pattern

The APTET exam 2022 will be conducted as two papers. Paper I will be conducted to check the eligibility of candidates to be teachers for classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for classes 6 to 8. Candidates can attempt either one of the two papers or both papers as per their requirement. Both the papers will be conducted for a total of 150 marks with a duration of 150 minutes. All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions.

The neighboring state of AP, Telangana, has released the application of TS TET 2022 on March 26, and the exam will be conducted on June 12, 2022.
