NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2021 – The admit card for NIMHANS PG Entrance Exam 2021 is out. It can be downloaded from the direct link given below. The last date to download the admit card is July 15, 2021. NIMHANS PG entrance exam (Medical & Non-Medical) Session 1 will be held on July 14 and 15, 2021 and UG entrance exam will be held on July 20, 2021. The entrance test shall be held in Bengaluru only. NIMHANS 2021 Entrance Exam Admit Card

National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) has released NIMHANS 2021 admit card online, on nimhans.ac.in. Candidates can download it by entering registration number and password. The candidates must carry the printed copy of the admit card to the exam centre. The admit card is not sent via post or email.

The admit card is issued separately for session 1 and session 2. Details like exam date, exam timings, address of the exam centre, important instructions for the exam are printed in the admit card.

NIMHANS 2021 Entrance Exam Pattern

Entrance examination is conducted through online mode and it contains of multiple choice objective type questions (MCQ) which a candidate should needs to solve in a duration of 90 minutes.

There will be 100 MCQ type questions. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for an incorrect answer.

  • Mode of Exam – Online mode.
  • Type of Questions – Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Duration of Exam – 90 min.
  • Negative Marks – 0.25 will be deducted for wrong answer and no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

NIMHANS 2021 Result

NIMHANS 2021 Result will be declared by National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) on the official website as per schedule. Candidate will be selected on the basis of Merit which will be optained from the Online Entrance Test. Candidate who will qualify the exam will be called for the next round of admission process which is the Interview Round. Result will be declared in the PDF format for the ease of candidate, so that the candidate can download the result and use it in future.

In case of Tie Breaking

In case of two or more candidate secure same marks, the following point will be takken under considereation:

  • No. of attempt by candidate in exam.
  • If No. of attempt is the same, then the candidate scoring higher marks in the exam will be considered.
  • If markrs remain same the age will be considered, the candidate who is older in age shall be considered.
  • If the candidate have same date od birth, then candidate with lesser number of negative marks will be considered.

NIMHANS Admission 2021 Course Wise Details

For PhD

Minimum Qualification/ Age: Qualifying degree as specified for the course concerned and No age limit.

Course Duration: 3 to 5 years for all Ph.D. programs, except PhD in Clinical Neurosciences.

Selection Procedure:

  • Seats under Institute Fellowship: Online Entrance Test (50%) + Interview (50%).
  • Seats under External Fellowship: Online Entrance Test and/or Interview and Seats under ‘External Fellowship Category’ are subject to availability of guides

Qualifying Marks: UR/SC/ST/OBC -50%

For DM (Super Speciality Courses)

Minimum Qualification/ Age: Qualification Degree as specified for the course concerned.

  • Under MBBS Category’- 32 Years
  • Under MD/DNB Category’- 37 Years

Course Duration: All DM Courses except Post MBBS DM in Neurology : 03 Years

DM in Neurology Course:

  • Post MBBS Category: 6 Years (3 years as Junior Resident and 3 years as Senior Resident)
  • Post MD/DNB Category: 3 Years (3 years as Senior Resident)

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test + Verification of Original Certificates on the day of admission

Qualifying Marks in Entrance Test: UR/SC/ST/OBC -50%

For M.Ch (Super Speciality Courses)

Minimum Qualification/ Age: Qualification degree as specified for the course concerned.

  • 32 years for applicants with medical undergraduate (MBBS) qualification.
  • 37 years for applicants with medical postgraduate (MS/ DNB) qualification.
  • No reservation of seats based on OBC/SC/ST/PWD/EWS, thus no age relaxation.

Course Duration:

  • 3 years for Post MS/ DNB ( 3 years as SR)
  • 6 years for Post MBBS (3 years as JR and 3 years as SR)

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test + Verification of Original Certificates on the day of admission

Qualifying Marks in Entrance Test: UR/SC/ST/OBC- 50%

For Postdoctoral Fellowship Courses

Minimum Qualification/ Age: Qualification degree as specified for the course concerned and No age limit.

Course Duration: 1 year

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test

Applicable to PDF in Psychiatry only:

  • PDF Examination will consist of a written paper for 80 marks and the 3 highest scores (in the respective subject) in the written examination will take up the OSCE for 20 marks.
  • The candidate securing the highest marks (Theory + OSCE) will be selected.
  • Eligibility for the final selection will be scoring an aggregate of 50% combining written exam score & OSCE.

Qualifying Marks in Entrance Test: UR/SC/ST/OBC- 50%

For Fellowship Courses

Minimum Qualification/ Age: Qualification degree as specified for the course concerned and no age limit

Course Duration: 1 year

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test + Verification of Original Certificates on the day of admission

Qualifying Marks in Entrance Test:

  • For UR/OBC- 50%
  • For SC/ST – 45%

For MD in Psychiatry Course

Minimum Qualification: Qualification Degree as specified for the course concerned.

Age Limit: For applicants applying under –

  • 35 Years for OBC Category
  • 37 Years for SC/ST Category
  • 45 Years for Sponsored Category

Course Duration: 3 years (for all candidates irrespective of DPM or MBBS qualification)

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test + Verification of Original Certificates on the day of admission

Qualifying Marks in Entrance Test:

  • For UR/ OBC- 50%
  • For SC/ST – 45%

For Master of Public Health Course

Minimum Qualification/ Age Limit: Qualification as specified for the course concerned and no age limit

Undergraduate Courses

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age Limit: 17 Years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 25 Years

Course Duration:

  • B.Sc. in Nursing: 4 years.
  • B.Sc. in Radiography/B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology/ B.Sc. in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology: 3 years

Selection Procedure: Online Entrance Test + Verification of Original Certificates on the day of admission.

Certificate Courses

Minimum Qualification/ Age Limit: Qualification Degree as specified for the course concerned and no age limit.

Course Duration: 1 Years

Selection Procedure: Committee constituted by the Director shall consider submitted Online Application Forms, for selection and admission of candidates.

NIMHANS 2021 Application Form

The first step to apply for admission in NIMHANS is to fill the application form online. The form releases on the official website of the exam. You need to fill the form and upload the required documents and photographs. Candidate can apply for a maximum of 3 courses in on application form. Moreover, submission of multiple NIMHANS Application Form is prohibited. After entering the basic details, you have to choose 3 test centers for the exam. Fill the choices in order of your priority. After filling in all the necessary details, the aspirants have to pay the required amount of application fee. Application Fee

The aspirants need to pay the following amount of Application Fee as given in the table below.

For Indian Candidates

  • For Ph.D., Super specialty, Postdoctoral and Postgraduate Courses
    • General or OBC and Foreign National – Rs. 1500/- per course
    • SC or ST Category – Rs. 1000/ – per course
    • PWD Category – No Application Fees
  • For BSc, Diploma and Certificate courses
    • General or OBC and Foreign National – Rs. 1000/- per course
    • SC or ST Category – Rs. 750/ – per course
    • PWD Category – No Application Fees
